Friends of Hillmorton Primary School is a Registered Charity, informally run by volunteer parents of the school.
Our aim is to organise fun events and activities! The children love our events and as well as having fun we raise valuable funds for school that enhance the quality of our children’s learning environment. They are great occasions for celebration for families and our school and community.
Like most Parents Associations, the majority of our funds are raised through the events that we run. Some of our most popular events are:
- Welcome Back/Recruitment Event in September
- School Discos
- Christmas and Spring Fairs
- Easter Egg Hunt
- Movie Nights
- Wreath making workshops
We have also completed fundraising projects such as Christmas card designing and tea towels.
In the last few years we have raised money to fund the following:
- Christmas Pantomime Performance
- School Playground Equipment
- Enrichment visitors for Science Week
- Easter Books
- Sound/Lights system for the School Hall
It is at our committee meetings, that the decisions on how to spend the money are agreed. We always endeavour to spend funds in ways that will benefit our children across all areas of the school and curriculum. You can be sure that in supporting our school, your child/ren will benefit from new resources and experiences to enhance their learning.
We usually meet once every month at The Bell, Hillmorton. Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings and become actively involved. Even if you are unable to attend meetings we would still love you to get involved. We are always looking for volunteer support at our events. We also welcome any ideas or suggestions for events we can run throughout the year.
Offering to help before events or at other times during the year is so valuable. It doesn’t matter if you can’t help on a regular basis, or even if you can not come into school. There are always jobs that can be done from home if you have half an hour to spare e.g. wrapping gifts, preparing raffle tickets etc. We really couldn’t achieve what we do without the behind the scenes help that we receive.
