Life Below Water Project
As part of our commitment to global learning and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, our Year 2 pupils took part in a meaningful international project focused on Life Below Water—working in collaboration with our partner school, Shri B S Mootha Girls School in India.
Through this inspiring partnership, children explored the importance of protecting our oceans and marine life. They learned about the incredible diversity of creatures that live beneath the waves, the dangers they face—such as plastic pollution and overfishing—and the vital role oceans play in sustaining life on Earth.
To showcase their learning, our pupils created beautifully detailed scrapbooks filled with facts, illustrations, and reflections about marine ecosystems. They also designed imaginative junk model sea creatures, using recycled materials to highlight the importance of reducing waste and reusing everyday items.
The highlight of the project was a live video call with our partner school in India, where pupils from both schools had the opportunity to share their work, ask questions, and celebrate each other’s efforts. It was a truly memorable experience that built not only knowledge, but also friendship and a sense of global responsibility.
This international collaboration helped our pupils understand that protecting our planet is a shared responsibility—and that, together, we can make a difference. It was a proud moment for our school and a wonderful example of learning beyond borders.
