Christmas Around the World- A Celebration of Global Festivities
Our school was filled with festive cheer as pupils from Pre-School to Year 6 took part in our vibrant Christmas Around the World Day. Each class explored the unique traditions and cultural celebrations of Christmas in a different country, including Sweden, Mexico, Spain, France, Poland, Italy, Germany, and Korea.
Throughout the day, children immersed themselves in the sights, sounds, and flavours of Christmas from around the globe. They learnt traditional Christmas songs, created beautiful handmade cards and crafts, tasted festive foods from each country, and even learnt seasonal vocabulary in the native languages.
From making Polish paper stars to singing "Feliz Navidad" in Spanish, every class enjoyed a hands-on, joyful learning experience that brought different cultures to life. The day helped pupils appreciate the similarities and differences in how Christmas is celebrated around the world, and encouraged a deeper understanding of global traditions.
Christmas Around the World Day was a wonderful celebration of diversity, creativity, and togetherness—reminding us all that while Christmas may look different in every country, the spirit of kindness, joy, and community is universal.
