At Hillmorton Primary School, we are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the prestigious International School Award by the British Council! This recognition celebrates our commitment to global learning, cultural diversity, and preparing our pupils to thrive as thoughtful, informed global citizens.
Throughout our journey, we have developed and delivered a wide range of engaging international activities, from exploring global environmental issues to building strong links with partner schools abroad. These experiences have enriched our curriculum, inspired curiosity about the wider world, and helped our pupils to develop a deeper understanding of different cultures and perspectives.
Achieving this award is a proud moment for our whole school community. It reflects the hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm of our staff and pupils, and it strengthens our vision of embedding international learning into everything we do. Most importantly, it empowers our children with the skills, knowledge, and outlook they need to make a positive difference in an increasingly interconnected world.

International Dimensions within our Curriculum
Our artistic displays celebrate the rich cultural connections at the heart of our curriculum. They showcase our shared learning with partner schools around the world and reflect values of global citizenship, respect, and curiosity. Each piece of work tells a story of collaboration, diversity, and our commitment to understanding the wider world.
Global Connections through Padlet: Exploring the Wider World
At our school, we are proud to foster meaningful global partnerships with schools in South Korea, Spain, and India. Through the creative and collaborative use of Padlet, our pupils regularly connect with their international peers to share ideas, celebrate cultures, and explore key global themes together.
Each class has a dedicated Padlet page where children post videos, artwork, writing, and questions linked to shared projects. These interactive boards serve as vibrant, digital meeting places—allowing pupils to engage in real-time exchanges, reflect on their similarities and differences, and deepen their understanding of life in other parts of the world.
Whether exploring environmental issues, traditional festivals, or everyday school life, Padlet enables our children to develop curiosity, empathy, and a genuine global perspective. These partnerships bring the wider world into our classrooms, helping our learners become more informed, respectful, and connected global citizens.
