Welcome to Year 2!
In year 2 we provide a stimulating and an enthusiastic learning environment to foster children’s creativity and engagement with their learning across the curriculum.
At the top end of KS1, the children are continuing to develop their independence, problem solving skills, curriculum knowledge and personal social skills and interests.
Therefore we facilitate a space for learning which embeds and encourages all of these characteristics rooted in a warm and friendly environment where everyone is listened to, all opinions are valued with the underlying core value of mutual respect between peers and adults. Through these ideals and classroom characteristics we prepare children for their journeys into KS2 and promote a love and curiosity for learning!

The booklet below provides information for parents and carers on the end of year expectations for children in our school. The staff have identified these expectations as being the minimum requirements your child must meet in order to ensure continued progress throughout the following year.
All the objectives will be worked on throughout the year and will be the focus of direct teaching. Any extra support you can provide in helping your children to achieve these is greatly valued.
